ABOUT
The start of 2025 has been very difficult, even before the Trump threats rolled out we saw raging wildfires, Surging flu and norovirus cases.
And its continued to go downhill with the Trump administration escalating threats to immigrants and transgender and nonbinary people, reproductive rights, diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, and even basic health care. As threats mount one essential need is still true and clear: the ability to care for ourselves and our loved ones.
The goal of the Community Care Conversation gatherings is to organize and engage with our communities to build the movement for “Care Economy” policies that support all working families in New Jersey. In addition to talking about paid leave we will incorporate issues such as affordable childcare, eldercare, healthcare, mental health services, and other topics that participants wish to discuss.
These events will focus on creating space to ask people what they are most passionate about fighting for. We want the people most impacted by the care economy that we're trying to build to have decision-making power over these systems — and for people and their lived experience to help set the agenda. People directly affected by the care economy crisises should be join of our Community Care Conversations!
